CLIMATE CHANGE: CREATING CONVERSATIONS ON A GLOBAL CRISIS

CURATORIAL STATEMENT

i3C is an acronym for “inspiring Change for the Climate Crisis.” Our group’s original 5-person show at the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center in 2020 gave us our start, our voice, and eventually the momentum to become the mature artists group we are today.  We create much needed dialogue to inspire urgent change for the environmental crisis using a versatile and rich vocabulary of techniques and imaginations. We have now exhibited extensively for almost two years, and we feel a special connection to and gratitude toward the Multicultural Arts Center. Now we are back in this familiar space.

The i3C Artists Group will brighten the walls of the luminous Multicultural Arts Center’s Gallery with visions and metaphors of resilience and hope. The powerful and innovative approach of the participating artists will provide an expression of what the environmental crisis entails, but also suggest avenues for change. We will celebrate what human society can do for our shared planet. The collective artwork will pose difficult questions about global dilemmas that will hopefully trigger profound conversations that bring us closer to taking concrete action.
