Curatorial Statement:

Interwoven II: One Planet We Love brings together artists who use fiber to explore our relationship with the Earth and with one another. Through weaving, stitching, knotting, felting, binding, collage, and other traditional and experimental processes, these works speak to connection, resilience, stewardship, and care.

Fiber is especially suited to these conversations. Individual strands become stronger when woven together, much like the ecological systems that connect and sustain us. The artists in this exhibition ask us to pay closer attention to what we use, what we value, what we discard, and what we choose to protect.

At its heart, Interwoven II is a continuing story about our shared home and our responsibility for its future, reminding us that care and making can both be forms of action.
