Curatorial Statement:

The exhibit captures timely exploration of themes associated with the current environmental and climate crisis, such as the massive plastic pollution, the tragedy of the extreme weather and the deterioration of the ocean’s health, but also the optimist point of view that results from contemplating the beauty of the natural world, the species’ interconnection, to inspire a re-examination of humanity’s relation to nature.

The featured eco-minded artists, members of the i3C (inspiring Change for the Climate Crisis) Collective, respond to the urgent need to mitigate the environmental and climate crisis by working with rejected materials, such as beach debris, plastic waste, or repurposed textiles. The artists’ provocative approach to reinvent the life of waste, transform society rejections into artworks that inspire and dare us to imagine that other society ways are not only a possibility but also an urgent and powerful means to turn humanity into actual stewards of the natural world.

What are the ways you think you can act to contribute to such a future, aligned with a stronger respect and connection to nature and planet Earth?
